Yew Tree Farm specialises in traditional British breeds, including the iconic Herdwick sheep, native to the Lake District. These sheep are slow-reared on the fells, grazing naturally and developing a rich, distinctive flavour that reflects the landscape they come from.

Alongside their sheep, the farm is also home to striking Belted Galloway cattle—easily recognised by their distinctive white band. Often called “Oreo cows,” these hardy animals are perfectly suited to the Cumbrian climate. Reared slowly and naturally, their beef is beautifully marbled, full of flavour, and renowned for its tenderness.
